Experience:
Spending the last 15 years in and out of Hollywood. Starting out as a PA picking up trash on set, running errands and washing the producers car. Then on to AC for legendary commercial director Joe Pytka. Shooting 200+ spots a year on average. Including dozens of Super Bowl commercials for IBM, Pepsi, Fed Ex, Nike and Budweiser. Then eventually graduating to camera operator and along the way given a chance to shoot and direct behind the scenes. Which in turn has led to numerous commercials and documentary film today. With diverse subject matter ranging from commercials featuring 10 foot grizzle bears, behind the scenes shoots with country stars promoting the American auto industry to a documentary about a young man from the town of Freedom, Oklahoma who wrote a letter to former President George W. Bush just after he left office. A letter convincing the president to come and speak at a 4th of July celebration that almost cost the young man his very own freedom.
Creative technique:
I try and keep a relaxed set. Always focusing on the story. Using strategy, innovation, collaboration and common sense to get from conception to execution. Having worked my way up from the proverbial mail room, I understand all aspects of production and constantly strive to streamline the process. Creating the highest production value possible using the smallest production footprint while on location.
Pizza:
Basically I love to make images both moving and still then talk about them over pizza. It's the perfect food. It is..
